Maji Hospital Solar Project

Taking lessons from the free aid program of its operation, the Foundation came to realize that, it would be impossible to address all in need due to scarcity of donation, coupled with the huge energy gap in the country. Hence, the Foundation designed another scheme, called Scaling up Solar Energy Supply in Ethiopia which has been started in 2008 after a project agreement signed among Ministry of Mines & Energy & Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in the mid of December 2008.

The ultimate objective of the project is to supply renewable energy preferably photovoltaic, on long term loan basis to 49,000 households of the four regions namely Amhara, Oromiya Tigray and South.
